Thailand Fishing

Thailand is fast becoming well known for its freshwater fishing. Justifiably so, since the variety and size that the fish can grow to, far outstrip fish elsewhere in the world. Coupled with its warm climate, smiling people and inexpensive prices, why not plan a fishing trip to Thailand and visit the Royal town of Hua Hin just 2 1/2 hours South of Bangkok?

You can then visit us at Hua Hin Fishing Lodge where you will find some unique species only to be found in Thai waters.

The Giant Mekong Catfish or Pla Beuk as it is known here, is one of the largest freshwater fish varieties in the world. They have been caught up to 292kg! We have them at Hua Hin Fishing Lodge to 60+kg as Myles can testify with this example at 42kg. It took him more than an hour to bring this fine specimen to the net.

We have many more in the 10 - 20kg range that will test any angler.

The Snakehead Murrell or Pla Chon as it is known here is famous for being the Thai equivalent of the European Pike. It's total aggression and yet crafty elusiveness is justifiably well known.

However - Mr. Heng from Singapore landed this 3 Kg specimen at Hua Hin Fishing Lodge, much to the delight of his fishing pals.

LATEST - 20 Sept 2008 - New HHFL record Pla Chon - 3.2kg - this could even be a world record for this variety! (Channa Striata

These are just a couple of the at least 39 differing species that we have waiting for you, at Hua Hin Fishing Lodge.

So come on over – you might get hooked!
